BUSINESS COUNCIL'S HOMELAND SECURITY COUNCIL TO HOLD INAGURAL
CONGRESSIONAL EXCHANGE IN WASHINGTON, D.C. MAY 18-19

ALBANY—The Business Council’s Homeland Security Council (HSC) will host its inaugural Congressional Exchange in Washington, D.C. May 18-19 to introduce HSC members to top federal decision-makers.

Scheduled participants at the event include top officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

“This event is specifically designed to afford Homeland Security Council members the opportunity to develop working relationships with government officials familiar with homeland security,” said Janet Looby, manager of member relations for The Business Council. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for members to showcase their businesses.”

The event will begin on Wednesday, May 18, with a welcome reception at the Rayburn Building on Capitol Hill hosted by U.S. Representative John Sweeney (R-Saratoga). Members of New York’s congressional delegation and officials from federal agencies have also been invited.

The agenda also includes a breakfast roundtable discussion on homeland security Thursday, May 19, in the Rayburn building. Scheduled speakers include:

  • Josh Filler, director of the Office of State & Local Government Coordination in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
  • Al Martinez-Fonts, special assistant to the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
  • Hugo B. Poza, vice president of homeland Security for the Raytheon Company.
  • U.S. Rep John E. Sweeney (invited).
  • Dave Zolet, vice president for business development of Northrop Grumman Corporation.
