Council reschedules training session for members on OSHA record-keeping standard

The Business Council's Occupational Safety and Health Committee and Labor and Human Resources Committee will meet Tuesday, Dec. 18, for training on how to comply with the new recordkeeping standard promulgated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

The meeting will run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Council headquarters in Albany. The meeting is restricted to Business Council members.

Edward Jerome, an OSHA compliance specialist, will lead a two-hour training session on the standard. There will also be time for questions and answers.

The new OSHA standard takes effect in January. It outlines procedures that all employers must follow to keep records related to on-site injuries and illnesses. The training session will also include information on what kinds of injuries and events must be recorded.

This meeting was originally scheduled for November, but had to be postponed because Jerome was summoned to work at the World Trade Center site in New York City. Anyone who registered for the November meeting is asked to re-register for this meeting.
