Governor
Pataki urges businesses, citizens to contribute to New York State World
Trade Center Relief Fund
Business
Council will collect contributions from member companies
Governor
Pataki has announced the creation of a special state fund to accept donations
from those who wish to support the World Trade Center emergency response
and victims support efforts.
The Governor's
office has specifically asked that Business Council member companies wishing
to contribute to this fund send their contributions in care of The Business
Council, rather than to the state directly. State offices handling the
fund are currently backlogged, the Governor's office has said.
Business
Council members wishing to contribute to the fund should make checks payable
to "New York State World Trade Center Relief Fund."
The Governor
said the new fund would be coordinated with the September 11th Fund established
by United Way, and the Twin Towers Fund established by New York City.
