New York employers and their employees are urged to use United Way International
(UWI) to make donations to help the victims of war in Kosovo.
By April 1, NATO was estimating that half a million persons-a fourth
of Kosovo's population-had already been displaced in Albania and Macedonia,
and that the number could double.
United Way International has identified organizations working with refugees
that would be appropriate recipients of donations.
Tax-deductible donations should be sent to United Way International,
701 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314. Questions about
Kosovo relief effort contributions should be directed to UWI at 703/519-0097.
Employers are encouraged to share this information with their employees.
