David Cordeau, president of the Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce, has been elected president of the Chamber Alliance of New York State (CANYS).

CANYS is an association of more than 50 chambers of commerce and employer associations throughout the state.CANYS focuses the collective influence and efforts of employer associations, enhances their professionalism and works with The Business Council on legislative affairs.

Cordeau succeeds Jim Berg of the Adirondack Regional Chambers of Commerce, who served as CANYS president in 1998.
