ADVANCE-NY training grant application deadline
The New York State Department of Labor has established a February 29, 2008 deadline for applications under the ADVANCE-NY program. This was an ongoing grant program to provide funds to businesses to train incumbent workers in the specific occupational skills needed by that business or industry that lead to career growth and increased wages. In order to be considered for a grant the applicant must be a private sector, for-profit or not-for-profit business that has four or more employees and has operations/employees in New York State. The current maximum annual award is $50,000 and there are matching requirements depending on the size of the business and the number of trainees.

The department of Labor is planning on replacing this grant program with another program, but the details and timeline for application under such a new program are not yet available. Businesses planning on submitting an application under this program should do so by February 29th.
