Budget Update

The FY2014-15 budget passed last night making the April 1st deadline.  Funding for the Division of Tourism and the County Matching Funds Program remained the same as last year at $2.5 million and $3.815 million, respectively. Market-NY and Taste-NY, two new programs implemented last year, were allocated $5 million and $1.1 million while the Wine and Grape Foundation's funding increased from last year by $287,000 for a total of $1,000,000.  Additional information on the enacted budget can be found on The Business Council's website.

RFA for Four Upstate Casino Licenses released!

Following the March 24 announcement of Taft, Stettinius & Hollister LLP, the consultant firm hired to advise the Facility Location Board, the Gaming Commission released the request for application for the four available Upstate casino licenses. Applicants will have to pay a $1 million non-refundable application fee before April 23, 2014 while bids will not be due until June 30, 2014. Any party that pays the application fee but does not submit an application will have the fee refunded less any reasonable costs the Commission incurred related to processing the fee.
