Hold the Date!
The Business Council’s 2018 Conference on State Taxation will be held Wednesday, May 2 and Thursday May 3 at the Renaissance Hotel in Albany. As in prior years, the main sessions will be on Thursday, with some programming and a reception Wednesday night. We welcome input from members on topics and speakers.
House Tax Package
We welcome any feedback from Tax Committee members on the “Tax Cuts & Jobs Act” released yesterday by the U.S. House Ways and Means committee, including any on how the House proposal would impact NYS tax law.
The Business Council has been working with the U.S. Chamber and other groups to support comprehensive tax reform, including business tax reform. At the same time, we continue to address the significant impact of the house plan, especially the SALT provision, on New York State taxpayers and economy.
Here are some useful links to House documents (hat tip to the US Chamber for assembling these): reform. Below, please find links to relevant Committee on Ways & Means materials.
2018 Draft Business Council Tax Agenda
We also would appreciate your input on key New York State tax issues for inclusion in The Business Council’s legislative agenda for 2018. Attached is our draft legislative/regulatory agenda, based on input we have received to date. We welcome additional recommendations, especially any concerns and/or proposals related to compliance with the 2014 Article 9A reforms.
