State HR Conference Only Weeks Away

Buffalo is ready as the HR profession descends on the city for the NYS SHRM Annual Conference from Sunday to Tuesday, September 15-17, 2013 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

Regardless of your years of experience, the NYS SHRM conference has something to offer you.  There may be a session that sparks an idea for a new way of doing business that you can take back to work and apply.  A speaker’s message just might tap into something that sends you back excited to re-engage a colleague you have been struggling with.  And you may just meet other HR professionals sitting next to you at one of the meals whose conference camaraderie re-invigorates you sparking a new professional collaboration or friendship.

If you are working toward recertifying your PHR, SPHR or GPHR credential, the program is loaded with approved sessions. Check out the right ones for you and enjoy! The speakers, concurrent sessions and pre-conference sessions will carry up to 15.5 recertification credits.
Finally, be sure to visit us at The Business Council’s exhibit in the Solutions Center . We’ll be part of the group of vendor/exhibitors providing  HR related goods and services contributing to your ROI. There aren’t enough mints, hand sanitizer bottles,  pens or chocolate to give you a positive ROI. Rather, use the Solution Center to get really smart about where your business spends its HR supplier dollars and how it can do what it’s been doing even better. Identify two or three areas of HR that your company currently spends key dollars on. Check the conference vendor/exhibitor directory to identify which vendors in those areas are exhibiting and go visit them. Find out what they believe their differentiators are. Discuss their new offerings (many vendors unveil new product versions, upgrades and other innovations at these conferences) and ask questions about implementation, user experience and prices. Get smart on how to spend your HR supplier dollars more effectively. There could be huge ROI in these discussions.

We’ll see you at the conference and be sure to stop by!
