Labor & HR Council Activity

The Labor & HR Council, with over a thousand HR and business professionals on its membership and mailing list, is one of the Business Council's largest councils.

This group is The Business Council's network for keeping member companies informed and involved in human resource-related legislative and regulatory matters affecting employers in New York State. It is also the conduit through which we receive input from members regarding these legislative and regulatory proposals.

Generally, there are HR legislative briefings each year at different locations around the state for the convenience of member companies. In the past, briefings have been held in Albany, the Adirondacks, Long Island, Western New York, central New York and Manhattan. In the Spring, when the Legislature is in session in Albany, we hold our hallmark HR event, the annual HR Legislative Conference. Here, members attend general sessions presented by key state agency officials and staff, review the status of human resource related legislative proposals and then have the option of visiting the Capitol for meetings with legislative leaders and staffers to discuss and explain, in employer's terms, what these proposals mean to them.

All Business Council members are invited to participate in the Labor & HR Council and its activities.
