Governor Announces Appointments

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced his picks for the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services. 

Jerome Hauer, a former acting Assistant Secretary for the Office of Public Health Emergency Preparedness at the US Department of Health and Human Services and currently the CEO of the Hauer Group, an organization that provides emergency management consulting to public and private clients, was nominated for Commissioner of the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES).  

Steve Kuhr has been appointed to serve as Executive Deputy Commissioner of DHSES and Director of the State Office of Emergency Management.  Kuhr, who is currently the President and COO of Strategic Emergency Group and provides emergency and security consulting services for federal, state and local agencies, has also previously served as Deputy Director for Operations and Planning for the NYC Office of Emergency Management.
