GAC Staff Update -We are pleased to announce that John T. Evers, PhD (Johnny) will be returning to The Business Council’s government affairs team, effective January 25, 2016. Johnny was on GAC staff from 1999 to 2004. Since then, he has served with the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance, the NYS Food Bank Association and most recently with Albany County, in addition to earning his doctorate in history from SUNY Albany. He will be working on technology/telecommunications, economic development, tourism/hospitality and other issues. Please join me in welcoming him back to the Council and GAC. 2016 Advocacy Agenda – The Business Council released its legislative and regulatory advocacy agenda today. It is based on the draft circulated to GAC members in November, and input received from members over the past several months. The agenda, has been distributed to the Cuomo administration and full legislature. It focuses on policy actions needed to improve the business climate throughout our state.
