Issue:

A bill to require employers to conduct studies, create policies and institute ongoing training to prevent workplace violence, S.200 (Velella)/ A.6254 (John), has seen action in both the Senate and Assembly. TBC's memo in opposition .

The bill remains held for consideration in the Assembly Ways and Means Committee. On June 23, 2004, the bill was committed to the Senate Rules Committee.

6/22/04 There has been no recent action on these bills. As of 6/22/04, S.200 remains on the Senate calendar and A.6254 with the Assembly Ways and Means Committee

6/11/04 S.200 was reported out of the Senate Labor Committee on February 10th and placed on the Senate calendar # 272. A.6254 was reported from the Assembly Labor Committee on March 10th and remains with the Assembly Ways and Means Committee.
