Government Affairs Albany Update

GAC Planning Session - Dec 7, 2004

Please plan on attending our 2005 Government Affairs Committee Planning Session on Tuesday, December 7. The session will be held 10am to 3pm at The Business Council's headquarters at 152 Washington Avenue in Albany. Additional logistical details are provided below.

This is an important session in which we will be discussing priority issues and lobbying strateties for the new legislative session. With another looming budget crisis, multiple "reform" proposals, significant "must do" issues (expiration of HCRA, procurement law, Empire Zones) and major carry-over issues ranging from workers comp to energy policy and others, we are facing another challenging session.

During November, Business Council staff will be reaching out to our members, through our committees and councils and through individual contacts, to get your input on both general business issues and company specific priorities. Likewise, we will be providing you with detailed issue briefs prior to the December 7 meeting. But please do not hesistate to contact Business Council staff if you have specific issues or concerns you would like to discuss.
