Power for Jobs bill comparison
The following chart delineates the differences between the three bills introduced that address the "Power for Jobs" program. The chart has ten categories that show the differences between each proposal.
The State Senate Majority addressed the "Power for Jobs" issue in its budget press conference last week (February 29th). At that time it was proposed that the first year contracts be re-approved (similar to the Assembly "roll over" provision below). In addition 50 new Megawatts were also added to the last year of the existing program.
The Assembly majority, in their March 14, 2000, press release regarding the
budget also advocated adding an additional 200 megawatts of power to their
version of "Power for Jobs".
