Annual
Legislators' Reception
This annual event is held
in January in Albany. The event brings together members of
The Business Council and members of the NYS Senate and Assembly;
top officials from the Governor's Office and various state
agencies; and key staff members. It is the kick-off event
to the opening of the Legislative Session. This is an excellent
opportunity to meet your representatives to discuss issues
of concern.
Annual Homeland Security Conference
The
Homeland Security Conference is designed to inform you about
the homeland security arena in New York State; Acquaint
you with procurement procedures and opportunities in federal,
state; Facilitate partnering/networking with first
responders, the public sector and other private sector
partners to enhance your advantage in competing for homeland
security contracts; and inform you about the resources
available to help you achieve success in the homeland security
marketplace.
Small
Business Day
This annual event is held
in March in Albany. It brings hundreds of small business
owners to Albany to meet with policy makers to work to improve
our economic environment. Tax issues are a primary concern
to most small business owners and this event is designed
to give the attendees the opportunity to impact the discussions
on the state budget. Small Business Day is a time
for small business owners to let the Administration and the
Legislature hear first hand, their ideas and concerns on
how to improve the business climate in New York.
Annual
Conference on State Taxation
This two-day event, held
in the Spring and presented with the cooperation of the NYS
Department of Taxation & Finance, focuses specifically
on the latest business and corporate tax issues and disseminates
information on how these will impact business in New York
State. This conference provides the most up-to-date information
possible since it is usually held only days after New York
State's budget is in place.
Annual
Meeting
Held in September, The
Business Council's Annual Meeting is a time of reflection
and planning for the future. Business Council leaders report
on the activities of the past year. In addition, future
plans are discussed, as well as what can be expected from
the state in the coming year. In such a magnificent setting
as the Adirondacks, time is allotted for enjoying the lake
and its environs with golf and tennis tournaments, 5K run,
boat cruises, and much more.
Annual
Industry/Environment Conference
Held in the fall in cooperation
with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, this
two-day conference brings close to 500 experts from the
private and public sectors together to interact an share
the latest information relevant to environmental issues
in New York State.
Conferences, events and seminars are subject to member-rate
registration fees.
