Join us for a discussion and update of an ongoing topic of interest to the construction industry, the Scaffolding Law,  plus an insight into construction activities and management/union relations in the greater New York City area. Both topics should provide for a lively discussion!

Tom Stebbins is Executive Director of LRANY, the Lawsuit Reform Alliance of New York located in Albany. Its mission is to change New York’s burdensome and expensive legal system to help create more jobs and energize New York’s economy. He will join us for the latest update on his organization's effort to address New York’s labor law sections 240-241, the scaffolding law. Tom will review their strategy, messaging, research and web page dedicated to the 240-241 issue.

Lou Coletti is President and CEO of The Building Trades Employers’ Association (BTEA) in New York City. Its mission is to advance the interests of New York City Construction Trade Associations and their corporate members, recognizing that a vibrant unionized construction industry is essential to the economic future of New York City. Lou’s BTEA also administers the New York Plan for the Resolution of Jurisdictional Disputes, an agreement designed to avoid work stoppages while a labor/management dispute is being resolved. Lou will update our committee on dramatic changes occurring in the NYC construction scene involving management/labor relations.
