Employee misclassification in New York’s underground economy is the subject of a public hearing by the Senate Standing Committee on Labor. The hearing is scheduled on January 13, 2010 at 10:00 am in Hearing Room B of the Legislative Office Building, Albany, NY. The purpose of the public hearing is to study the loss of revenue flowing to the state’s underground economy as a result of employee misclassification. The Committee will also review the impact on workers and employers from misclassification.
