NOVEMBER 1998Energy-efficient pollution prevention
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) will award funding for projects that promote energy-efficient pollution prevention.
Proposals are due March 3, 1999.
The goal of the program is to develop, demonstrate, or commercialize processes and technologies that reduce or reuse industrial wastes at the point of generation. Funds will be provided for:
- Feasibility studies-Up to $50,000 per project is available for engineering
feasibility studies of innovative, energy-efficient waste reduction
and reuse methods and technologies.
- Development and demonstration projects-Up
to $250,000 per project is available to develop or demonstrate innovative
energy-efficient waste minimization technologies.
- Up to $25,000 per project is available for detailed engineering
feasibility studies of commercially available energy-efficient waste
reductions methods or technologies using consulting/engineering firms
retained by NYSERDA for this service.
- Eligible industrial wastes covered by this solicitation include solvents or other liquid wastes, wastewater, solid materials or gases. Eligible waste reduction strategies may include process modifications, feedstock substitutions, operational efficiency improvements, new product or process development, and waste recovery and reuse.
