State releases new, updated, user-friendly Consumer Law Help Manual

The New York State Consumer Protection Board (CPB) has released an updated edition of the New York State Consumer Law Help Manual for the first time since 1988.

The new manual is a desk reference for journalists, government officials, businesses, and others interested in questions, complaints and concerns of consumers.

The new Consumer Law Help Manual has been rewritten, updated and expanded in an easy-to-read style and format. It is intended to be an initial reference source for simple, concise answers to consumer questions.

"This manual will help all consumers, including business consumers, do business in New York with confidence," said Daniel B. Walsh, president of The Business Council.

"Consumer education is an integral part of consumer protection," said Governor Pataki. "The new Consumer Law Help Manual will be an invaluable resource for all New Yorkers."
