Erie County, New York / Quaker-church

The Quaker denomination was recognized in 1807, becoming the first established religious group in Erie County. The strong faith the Quakers brought to Orchard Park supported them in what was then a wilderness. It guided them to build their first church in 1812 and they remained the community's strongest denomination until 1880. Today, more than 20 churches representing most denominations are scattered throughout Orchard Park, reflecting the firm, sustaining faith that continues to exist.
